This is a list of searchers and search companies... PLEASE check these people out thoroughly! I am just listing the links and phone #'s I come across. Most are reputable... Go with someone you feel comfortable with if you chose to go with any of them.
Some searchers are scam artists! If I find proof that someone is not an above board searcher, their link will be removed.
I want to express the importance of checking someone out before sending them any money! Don't always rely on their "letters from satisfied customers". Do your homework. PLEASE do everything you can on your own before hiring someone.
Go through all my other adoption pages... click on any link that sounds like it *might* be helpful to you... check everything out and every option out there before clicking any of these links.
If nothing else it will save you money if you find out everything you can on your own first.
If anyone knows of a link on my page to a site that is bad news, PLEASE let me know so that I can remove the link before anyone gets taken.
I know this sounds a bit overwhelmingly against searchers... I don't mean for it to sound that way. Everyone deserves to make a living, And again, most are honest people feeding their families.
I feel strongly that finding your birth family should be free, or as close to it as possible. I also know from being online and searching myself, that there is nothing a searcher can do for you, that you can't do for yourself, at a fraction of the cost. The only thing a searcher can do that you might not be able to do on your own... Is if you have a name and date of birth to go on... they can run a database check to find that person.
Alright... one last time... PLEASE do any/everything you can on your own first. Don't be intimidated. Then... if you have to... or if you have a name and date of birth... hire a searcher to bring it home. I can't stress this enough... and I can't take any blame for a bad searcher on this list. I just put up the links...

NOTE: Volunteer searchers do not charge you for their time... they DO charge you for their costs. Like gas, phone calls, photo copies, any real costs and charges that are applied to them on your behalf.

Search Triad (All Volunteer, non-profit search and support group, SNAIL MAIL, you pay actual costs.. like photo copy, 25 cents, gas, $5)
Volunteer Search Network (Same as Search Triad.. Except you can get help ONLINE, as opposed to snail mailing info. Seems it would be quicker. You pay costs only. I am a member of this group (I am in VT and northern NH) and can vouch for their integrity)
1-900-263-HUGS The service isn't free, it costs $3.99/minute. The feedback is that they provide help and get you off the line fast AND happy. They are available 8am-midnight M-F and Saturdays 10am-6pm (east coast time)
